And when You found me Father, I was small, weak and blinded. My strength had collapsed beneath my worn out feet, and my faith in life had crumbled under the weights of the heavy world. My fears had taken hold of me, and I was left, tending to my heartache, swallowed by self-doubt, with an inability to fly.. And although my wings never left my side, the very reason for their existence to me, was invisible. My feathers were torn and tattered, some missing, some stained, some bruised. I was, as You found me, broken and heavy with shame. Unable to lift my head, with my eyes firmly fixed on the ground. Unable to raise my wings- like string wrapped so tightly, they refused to move. You wiped the rubble from around my lifeless body, lifted me from that which I once knew as home and You held me in Your hands.. You, my magnificent Maker - Who hung the stars in the sky and set the world into motion.. You, held me in Your hands. You showed me Your willingness to love me and replenish me, in spite of my brokenness.. If only I would spread my wings in faith, and believe that Your word was true. And though I failed many times, still You waited, patiently and without judgement or stern words.. You balanced me as I learned to fly in Your allowance, and within Your will- until I took full flight from within Your grace as a new creation. And though my wings have found the air again, the strength and faith to carry on- with new sight from old eyes, based firmly on Your promises.. You still wait for me as a Father waits for a new born child taking their first steps - in the knowledge that I am not perfect, You hold Your arms out for me, in full flight and in moments of despair. Thank You Father, for the safety of Your loving hands, forever outstretched for me.
